About meβ¦
Welcome to my private practice website! I am a licensed MFT and provide individual and family therapy.
Before I became a therapist, I was a high school English teacher for fifteen years at a variety of high schools in the Bay Area, including Maybeck High School, Head-Royce, and Marin Academy. After I became a therapist, I worked as a School Counselor at Redwood Day School in Oakland and The Athenian School in Danville. I love working with adolescents. My literature teaching background draws me to be interested in the way people tell their stories and narrate their experiences of what it's like to be human.
In addition to having worked as a school counselor, I have extensive experience as a mental health provider at Sutter Health Alta Bates Hospital β Herrick Campus, Edgewood Center for Children and Families, and First Hope, a clinic that specializes in helping young people with psychosis. I am trained in CBT for psychosis and have worked extensively with people with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Having been an inpatient social worker at a psychiatric hospital, I am also experienced in working with people with active suicidal ideation.
I have a BA from Columbia University in Comparative Literature and an MA from The Wright Institute in Counseling Psychology.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family and photographing wildlife.
